GPS & Channels

Hi All,

I have a old bluetooth GPS that has I think 16 or 24 channels. Its a Leadtek.

I currently pick up between 7-12 satellites.

If I get a GPS with more channels does that mean I will pickup more satellites?

Or

Whats the purpose of more channels?

Thanks

The numberof channels you have available is the number of satellites you can lock onto.
If you have a receiver with 16 channels and you are maxing out at 12 locked sat's, a receiver with more than 16 channels (or 12 for that matter) won't help you at all.
