iGuidance 3 Forgets Port!

Anyone have this issue? Iguidance 3 reverts back to COM1 everytime I close and re-open the program.. well, sometimes it doesnt loose it. What causes this? Using RR & DigitalFX 2.5 skin. Have Xport running split to COM 16 & 17. GPS receiver is on COM3. Set RR GPS to COM 17 (GPS STATS works every time i open it in DigitalFX. If I run Iguidance standalone and select port 16 it runs fine. Then close it and start RR and usually it will work. After closing RR and re-open Iguidance alone or through RR it is reverted back to COM1!

What causes this!?

iGuidance doesnt like over COM9.

Also make sure you are doing your com scan outside of RoadRunner. So open iG from the start menu, scan, save, file-->exit, then launch roadrunner.

just do what I did, make a batch file to import a registry entry to keep changing the port back everytime you start Iguidance. since all of my ports below 10 were taken.. I had to do this to get it to stay.

Oh, wow. Ok thanks! I know how to do the batch file/reg chnage, but how do you do this each time you start iguidance?

Thanks!

I'll try it tonight

turn off ewf LOL
then reboot
set settings file or open iguidance, choose port, and exit the program properly
then, once done, turn back ewf

If possible, before using reg hacks and so on, try to set your GPS port below 8. Go to Device Manager, find your GPS receiver COM port, double-click, go to properties (I think, I'm doing this by memory), find the place where you can adjust 2 sliders (UART 16550-related), there should be a box at the bottom of that dialog box where you can choose the COM port. See if you can set it to something REALLY low, like 2, 3, etc. If you can, iGuidance will stop messing around. I used to have this problem for like a year until I blew a fuse (in my head), posted a message here, and someone just said "drop the COM port"
