DeLorme Hacks

For those of you have are using DeLorme Street Atlas 2008 and hate the info bar on the right side and the split map on the left side when you are GPS tracking like I do. I have found a way to get ride of them. I found this out playing around in the windows registry and thought i would post it so other ppl can benifit from my findings. Here are the steps...

1) Click start and select run

2) Type 'regedit'

3) find this key to get ride of the split map on the left

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DeLorme\SA2008\DeLorem Components\DeLorme.SA2008.GPS.1\AppDefaults

4) find the entry called 'AutoSplitMapSuppport'

5) change this value to 0

6) to get rid of the info bar on the right find this key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DeLorme\SA2008\Screen\ 800x600
note - you need to select whatever screen size you use. mine is 800x600

7) find the key called 'InfoWidth'

8) change this value to 0

And next time you start DeLorme these will be gone. if you want them back the change the values back to what they were. AutoSplitMapSupport will be 1 to turn it back on and the InfoWidth will vary because it is in pixels. Mine was 62 in hex and 98 in decimal. Hope this helps someone.
