How many sats can you lock on too?
I know there's another thread like this one, but just wondering...
I think I had been locked to 11 sats.

There's a nifty animation showing how many sats you can lock on to depending on their current orbit.
I think the NMEA standard only reads 11 connections max at any given time anyways.

i don't know if you have been having problems, but on a side note sometimes xport causes me to lock on to less satellites, worth looking into if you've been having problems locking to satellites

I could be wrong, but I don't think xport could possibly cause you to lock on to less satellites. I'm pretty sure that the receiver handles the locking and then determines your position, then sends a string containing your position and the number of satellites it used to determine that position. You computer just displays this info on a map or whatever. If you are getting any information about how many satellites you are locked on to, then you are getting all of the info through xport.

well this is just my personal expirience, but at at least 2 times this has happened to me, i started my car pc came out of hibernation, the gps antenna led blinked which means it's locked, but yet iGuidance nor RR would detect any satellites, restarted the pc nothing, checked the comm ports and they were correct, so i closed Xport and changed the comm port in iGuidance to the receiver directly and BANG 9 satellite lock immediately, rescanned with Xport changed comm ports again and then it started working perfectly.

Ya, that's a pretty common error, it's called PEBKAC.
