GPS is way off

I thought this was a street deck problem at first. But now I think it's a problem with my GPS receiver. When I fire up my SD navigation 7 times out of 10 it says I'm in Las Vegas. Which is weird cause I live in NJ. I'm using the pharos GPS usb receiver which comes with streets and trips. The usb connections are all fine, all the com ports are set correctly, and it has a clear view to the sky because it's mounted right under my sunroof. Sometimes the thing works great. In fact it worked great for about 2 weeks. But now most of the time it doesn't. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Maybe the thing is just busted, but if it's something simple I'd like not to shell out more $$. Thanks in advance for any response.

What front end are you using? I'm running streetdeck 1.1.1.6. I found out the problem in mine. When I adjusted the driving speeds in SD it throws it way off. But when I reset them to the default it works just fine. Don't ask me why?????

What about trying another GPS program outside of SD?

Or even a diagnostic program like SIRFDemo?
