Red face Some More Questions for IG 4 AND DFX SKIN

Hello folks,

It's me Phili the Newbie, that all kind of went together! Ok anyway here is my two question for anyone who can answer them.

1. In Iguidance if i want to search a destination then nav to it. here is my example, my wife and I were out this morning and she wanted Starbucks, so we both sat there trying to find a place in IG to search the word starbucks. As luck had it, I couldn't see anywhere how to do this. Did I miss something?

2. Gas Price screen, many thanks go out to Anthony who helped me out last night trying to find out why i couldn't use map it. But my question further more is, is it possiable to have the GPS tell me were the neariest gas stations are in the area that i am in currentlly. What I mean is, as far as I know, I have to put in a zip code to get a list gas stations, but if we are driving somewhere out to town or state and I don't know what the zip code is, how am i to find the neariest gas station? Is there a way to correct this feature?

Thank you and again thanks to all of you who have helpped me out over the past few weeks.

Phil

Uh...to the rescue again? Gezzzzzz....

#1, This is one small problem of using Johns hacked ig. It's because he removed the iG Menu button that is normally on the screen at all times and just lookin my self have found that you have definitely have a point as John doesn't give you a way, if its not one of the places on the shortcut menu that you want to go. I think that he might also have to have another called Other for something just like this.

#2 Yes, RR does use the gps data to guess as good as it can to get your current city,state,zip,ect... To turn that on you would use the "localdatacaptureinterval=x" Where x is the time in minutes between location checks 0 = off, > 0 = on using set interval. You can yell at Sonic for using such a bad ini setting name and it was suppose to be only for the weather zip lookups, but now has a couple of things tied to that horrible setting name.

IIRC, from when I used John's hacked up iG, that the Menu button in the lower left corner of iG is only *hidden*, not missing. This means, if you click in the lower left of iG, the normal iG menu will come up giving you access to everything you need, including POI's not set in John's shortcuts.

And I haven't played with the gas prices enough to comment there. Good luck!

Hey Guys,

I have tried making the gps to tell me what gas stations are in the area. I am leaving for a road trip this saturday and would like to get this working. Let me know if you guys need me to post a screen shot of what i did. maybe that would help?
