is this normal behaviour with bu-353?

Something i don't get is that sometimes, no.. most of the times, bu-353 doesn't lock any SAT in my room. but if i take it outside and lock some SAT and come back to my room, it locks a few. Why is that? Why could it not lock a few SAT without me taking it outside. Also, even when i am at outside, it wouldn't lock any SAT sometimes in fine weather... It just doesn't seem very consistent... Any thought?

GPS receivers require a bit stronger signal to 'lock' on satellites. After that they can maintain the 'fix' on the satellites even with a little bit weaker signal.

There may be factors other than weather affecting reception of the weak GPS satellite signals, such as tall buildings or trees obstructing 'view' in some directions.

Maybe because the sats are in the sky and cannot get a good signal in your room. My BU-353 can look up to 11 sats at a time, depending on the time of the day of course.

Another factor which can come into play inside is electrical interference from things like routers, cordless and wireless devices, power transformers, etc. Add to that the fact that the sat signals are weaker inside.
