At the risk of sounding even more noob...

I downloaded that software and installed it and it won't work, there isn't even an .exe file in there to run. And numerous google searches reveal nothing...

Not sure if this really makes too much of a difference but the PC i'm using to test is running x64 Vista and my actual carpc is running XP...

Ok the link for the software should be

http://gpsentreprise.com/GPSTest.rar

it is a rar file which contains one file an exe. this is a setup program.

if there is no file it is possible your AV software has killed it.

Also Vista may be the issue, you may have to run in compatibility mode.

Issues with GPS Bundled Software

Hey all,
been floating around for awhile and finally decided to register....

I'm having a lot of issues with a 'no name brand' GPS Receiver. I do in fact have the unit working, however it won't get a lock on any satellites.

Reading thru the manual supplied on the cd, it says to use a program called MrGPSViewer, however this peice of software isn't included *grumble grumble* but I have another that is entitled GPS Viewer, and doesn't include all the options they describe in the manual.

Long story short, the manual says i need to set the location of the receiver, and without this program I can't seem to work out how. Do I need to set the location? Does anyone have a copy of this software? Any other suggestions?

Currently I'm using Goops and Google Earth has me positioned somewhere in the Atlantic, lol
