Xenarc and Co-pilot

I have a Xenarc screen max. res 640x480 (80x480) if I go the powerstrip route. I need to buy a GPS software and was concerned when I read a post about co-pilot requiring 800x600 or “stuff” will get cut off. How bad is it and is Delorme any better. The Xenarc can not do 800x600, any suggestions?

If you have a compatible video card driver, you can make the desktop size 800x600, even tho the screen size is 800x480.
That's exactly what my libretto does. YOu move the mouse to the edges of teh screen and the screen scrolls.
Now I dont know if this feature is limited to just the libretto and other laptops with the "widescreen" size, or you can use this method with many other graphics cards.

Works fine for me @ 640X480. The only thing that I noticed it cutting off was some of the buttons longways(the 640 or 800 part) So if you are running it @ 800X480, it should work really great.

I hate to be 3 months late but I run Copilot at 640x480 and it works fine. Just on the passenger screen the copilot logo gets cut off. At the widescreen 800x480 on my friends Xenarc it looks better and doesn't get cut off but the quit button and a few others don't show up. You have to scroll down. Besides that it looks great!

xenarc seems to be changing by the day, their site did say 1280, 1040, now its 1600x1200, and you say it was lower than 800x600.

I'm talking about the 7" VGA touchscreen monitor. Max RES is 800x480 because of the widescreen format.

oh I know, check their site for yourself but this is what it says.

7" TFT LCD Monitor - Model #700TS / 700TSV

*NEW* Now supports up to 1600 x 1200!

I posted a question about this in the LCD forum, they seem to be raising the supported resolution weekly, cause it was lower than that not 4 days ago... said new then too.

The resolution on that panel is 800x480, it has always been 800x480.

It can display higher resolutions, but you will not be displaying all the pixels, it will be scaled

Hey,

Can someone with a good camera who knows how to use it take a nice BIG picture of the Xenarc 700 running 800x480 and 800x600? Id really like to see how well it scales, and if I need to build an Auto PC that can do a custom res.

I need a big image 1600x1200 or better and that's if it's just the LCD panel. I need to see individual pixels if possile.

You can email it to me if u wish.

Thanks!
