I have figured out how to use my mobile phone's built in GPS (Samsung epix i907) from my carpc [
see this page], however was wondering what other folks thought about that method verses a dedicated GPS.
So far here are my Pros/Cons:
For phone GPS:
1. Single device to manage
2. Tracklogs can continue to be collected when hiking away from the car
Against phone GPS:
1. Possibly can't talk (or more difficult) while using GPS
2. A dedicated GPS unit may be more capable
