Any GPS software that accepts outside variables for directions?
I'm coding a program in C# and I need it to be able to send a variable to gps software, and for the gps software to give directions to this location based on the current location. Is this possible? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The quick answer is YES. Both IGuidance and Freedrive that I know of. IG requires a hack of some sort first, but FreeDrive accepts Cartesian coordinates right out of the box.
Search for "nav to" in the RR plugins threads for "movietimes" and "Gaspricefinder/rrgas"

Hmm, how would I get the coordinates of a certain address?
I'm leaning towards SendKeys as my method of execution.
I can just change the window focus, press a hotkey, and enter in the address from a string.

Search for "nav to or nav or navigate" in the RR plugins threads for "movietimes" and "Gaspricefinder/rrgas"

Could you be a little more descriptive? What exactly am I looking for when I search that?
I am not using RR at all...

[START SPOONFEEDING]
Basically what you're looking for are the Autoit scripts used to get the address, convert it to Cartesian coordinates, grab focus of the nav program, and send coordinates to program initiating a new route. Sure these plugins are created for RR, but dissecting them should get you enough info to develop your own scripts for your own program. The three people you need to be contacting are Sonicxtacy, Enforcer, and ThunderStick for IG, Freedrive, and Garmin scripts respectively. I did a quick search on "navigate" and "movietimes" and found the following:
MovieTimes Nav for Garmin and iGuidance
Movietimes navigate discussion
Current Movietimes Plugin
[FINISHED SPOONFEEDING]
The same can be done for the gas plugins to find the scripts, mods and data used in those programs.

Thank you, I could have done without the attitude, I do not see how that is spoodfeeding.

This is not a very descriptive sentence, and does not mean much to me. Especially after doing a search and getting a great number of results. Basically you said, look through hundreds of threads.

This was a much better formed sentence, put together quite nicely, and it made sense! From my understanding these scripts are written in VB which I know nothing about. SendKeys is working great for me for now, but thanks for "spoon-feeding" me.
Quote:
What is Spoon Feeding?
dictionary.com defines it as follows:
spoon-feed (spnfd)
tr.v. spoon-ˇfed, (-fd) spoon-ˇfeedˇing, spoon-ˇfeeds
1. To feed (another) with a spoon.
2. To treat (another) in a way that discourages independent thought or action, as by overindulgence.
3. .
1. To provide (another) with knowledge or information in an oversimplified way.
2. To provide (knowledge or information) in an oversimplified way.
Most often on the forums, "spoon feeding" refers to posters who ask questions, and refuse to put any effort or thought into their questions, as well as the answers they receive. They expect every answer to be dumbed down to the last detail, and expect that everyone else do their research for them.
1. I am not physically being fed with a spoon
2. I am not being treated in a way that discourages independent thought or action, I coded my entire program until I came across this problem, searched google for a couple days, then finally posted, and THEN answered my own question. Further more, "Look at these scripts" requires independent thought AND action to convert VB code into my programming language.
3. Knowledge provided in an oversimplified way:
"Copy and paste this code: "
Knowledge NOT provided in an oversimplified way:
"Search for "nav to or nav or navigate" in the RR plugins threads for "movietimes" and "Gaspricefinder/rrgas""
Have a nice day =)
