F- Alaskans
I purchased eveything needed to build and install a carputer from mp3car.
I got everything installed and downloaded the navigation software to go with my North American Navigation Centrafuse product.
When setting up the map in centrafuse I tried every map package (that made sense) there was and Alaska does not appear on any map.
I had to do some searching and finally found this:
http://forums.fluxmedia.net/faq.php?...l&titlesonly=0
which led me to this:
http://www.fluxmedia.net/availableMaps.aspx
I noticed Alaska is nowhere in the 2.0 package I purchased.
1) Is there a map I have to download elsewhere? (do I have to buy some special map?)
2)Why was (EXCEPT ALASKA & HAWAII) not listed anywhere here?:

On a side note I wouldn't feel too bad, Centrafuse is still a powerful front end, 3.0 is going to come out and existing customers will get a discount on that upgrade, who knows maybe their GPS will have Alaska and Hawaii then too.

Ok lets not be a bunch of idiots here, thats why alot of people have stopped coming to the forums because of the smart remarks. Now getting to my point when I purchased my copy of centrafuse I already had the maps so I didn't need the full nav version so when you comment try and I repeat try to use your small brains and think before saying something, and if you don't have anything that you can say to help on the matter SHUT UP! Now thehouston if you send me a pm I believe I can help

UP!
Now, without any clarification from the OP, how were we to know they added that to the description after he had his problems? Why don't you think before you say something, and realize that we didn't see the problem, and figured it was just "user error". Apparently our small brains are no match for your intellect and lack of punctuation usage.

Did you ask if you get a free upgrade when new maps come out? I'd at least ask. How out of date are they?

They basically said they didnt have Alaska on the listed maps on their site, so bummer. Of course I never checked out their site, I purchased from mp3car.
He said they were from v 1.0
When are these new maps coming out?

Where are the smart remarks?
And how did your point come into this? I don't see you making any point before.
And I hope you are not sharing around warez maps.

Nice of them to get a hold of you and get you SOME maps. No release date yet on the new CF.

As far as that goes, sorry if I came across as mean, I didn't think I was being insulting or say that he had a small brain, or tell him to shut up. Quite honestly I took more offense from your post than what I feel I conveyed in my original post. I could be insulting to you and link you to the definition of a hypocrite, but this is where we get

Thanks All.
Thank you everybody for your input on the matter. Much appreciated.
I did download the SDK for centrafuse and am going to start playing around with it in Visual Basic. I recently got Flash to control servos through FSCommand to a DLL file that connected through a serial port.
I am hoping to control much of centrafuse' UI through Flash.
I plan on having a realtime 3d model of my car with touch activated doors trunk.. etc.
Not that it has anything to do with maps, just plan on giving back.

I am very sorry about this - we ourselves were only informed that Alaska and Hawaii map data is missing from the North America version of Centrafuse yesterday and immediately added this description to our store.
If the map data that Reagan provided you yesterday does not meet you needs, just email the store and I will help you get this sorted, as there was clear miss representation of the product.
And good luck with your project.
