New GPS software for your CarPC: Geolife Navmii



This doesn't happen very often, but now (July 2009) a new navigation software is being launched for the PC platform.

Geolife Navmii, version 1, is being launched for Windows XP/Vista/7 for Europe, North America, and some parts of Soutth America/Asia/Africa.

hopefully the Karputer guy put some carputer friendly aspects into the software... mainly an SDK and some volume control logic. Some of the UI elements look like iGo8.. i would absolutely LOVE if it performed like iGo. I might have to be a guinea pig here.

finally! i think its only the beginning of a flood of gps apps for windows in the coming years... it wont be that much longer before most cars come equipped with pcs that can run windows.

We've been testing this over on DC.

Should have my hands on an SDK soon (I hope)

I emailed them a while ago and they said they had plans for a SDK, but didnt say much more than that.
I would be happy with just some documentation or something for now! just to see if its got enough control over the software for my liking.
