what mapping software has resizeable text
I'm using streets 98 right now but the text is just to small to be readable and there is no way to resize it. What gps software allows you to resize the street names. I have a 7" lcd. Any suggestions?

I was playing with MS MapPoint 2002, it has adjustable fonts. It doesn't allow you to choose your Number, but it does have 5 different sizes to choose from. I use the 'Large' (Second Highest) on my PSOne LCD and it's readable.
I wonder if MS Streets and Trips 2003 would have adjustable fonts too, since it is build on MapPoint Technology??

DeLorme Street Atlas 2003 has the ability to select a zoom. I set it at 200% and can read street names while sitting back in the seat fine. You can see a few miles of steets in either direction at that setting also

I'm so glad people have told me that Mappoint has resizable text. That is the one thing I hadn't thought of. The Map is nice and clear on the composite screen, but street names etc are too small, unless you are zoomed right in.
Shall have to hunt down that feature.

Nice one. Shall have a play with that tonight. At the moment, everything is a DiningroomtablePC rather than a CarPC, but it is getting so close to install, that very shortly only the wiring will be needed before I can plug it in, and test it out properly.

Just fyi...I use the Larger Font with the map zoomed in to about 3 miles on my 5" LCD (PS One LCD) and it's pretty easy to read. If i have time tonight i'll post a pic.

A picture would be great.
Just out of interest, as it isn't installed in car yet, apart from getting the GPS working, and making some AGPS settings, i haven't played with Mappoint too much. Does it remember the Zoom and large font settings between uses, or do you have to reset it every time?

OK, cool. I tried the larger font, and zoomed to local Map size (town or street level). And as long as you save the map, it keeps the font size and map zoom. Just need to work out how to auto load a map at startup.
Nice tip there nobias. Thanks.
