Best On Screen GPS Software

I am soon mounting a Carputer in my 2003 Tahoe. I want to have some sort of software that will interface with a GPS that will have an external antenna attached. I would like a screen of the GPS software that can display direction, altitude, lat/lon/ speed, etc, as well as a moving map display of where I am in real time. What software can do this, and what is the best in your opinion? Thanks!

those are the best ones. I wonder if code3response plans on flying his car. He wants altitude, How high can you go? 12,000 feet before hipoxia starts kicking in, unless of course hes got some oxigen mask system, then maybe he can reach 45,000 feet without a glitch

when you say flying, all I could think was wizardPC's shifter and laughing my *** off. Anyway, Street Atlas 2K3 shows speed, alt, lat, long but requires at least true VGA screen to show the small font. The only useful information for GPS nav is the altitude and speed. Alt can show if you're going up hill or down hill. Longitude and latatude are good for 4bying where there's no road on the map or if you're out fishing in the sea. You can check out this thread for screen shot of Street Atlas.

In post #7 code3response told osirisdon to **** off. Thats why hijinks and samc responded like that. code3response then edit post #7 to something little nicer. Some things you just cant forget easily When someone told someone to f off, thats something you dont forget easily especially a newer member telling an older member to f off. Im not in the middle of it so don't be rude to me. I'm just an innocient bystandard.

LOL. I was just kidding around. Somone here locally saw the post about me flying and since he is a pilot - started poking fun at me I told him to go "check the reply" and then edited it a few minutes later to the thanks post (the non joke one). Some people saw it before I was able to edit it.
