Copilot compatible with navman??

Will 2003 Copilot Software work with the e-Series Navman GPS receiver (USB)?

copilot software is only sold with the copilot receiver

please don't ask for any one to make you a copy or anything like that

as for the receiver the only reason people use ones other than the copilot one is probably because they obtained the software illegally

i personally find that the software is well worth the price tag

I would buy CoPilot if I didn’t have to use their GPS that comes with it.

Maybe CoPilot is just trying to get it used to using a propriety receiver that way they can add things in the future like inertia sensors.

I have a receiver already so I really don't want to buy another receiver. I did a search and read that there are other receivers that would work but I am not sure if this one would.

what's everyones problem with the copilot receiver? i think it works just as good as my garmin etrex

SLOW fix time. I have one since 2.0 and doesn't really want to shell out the money to live if I can. ($300 intial purchase, $100 upgrade to v3.0) and have to shell out $300 again to get live with new GPS? Hell no.
Since they made it so propieratory (which is nothing more than code checking in case of CoPilot 3.0), I probably will hack the code (more like component file that checks for it), and get different GPS receiver and stick to Pocket CoPilot 3.0.
The sad thing is, even the older receiver doesn't work with notebook copilot 3.0 or vice versa.
I love the software but have major problem with sticking to them as it will be yearly expense of avg $200 -_- at this rate. What other software are comparible to Pocket CoPilot that doesn't DEMAND propieratory receiver? I would like to know.

Copilot is only compatable with the propritary recever and any recever that can handle fully programmable sentence output.

Also. It should be known that apparantly the latest copilot GPS recevers have become MUCH better then the older, round units, and they have solved the problems with slow lock times and not getting a lot of them (this is what my friend told me)

The new units are square.

Jinu117 If you can hack Copilot 2003 to work with any GPS antenna I would be very interested in getting that hack.

Has anyone used iGuidance (http://www.navroute.com/products/sof...uidanceUSA.htm)? It appears to be the same software as Copilot.

Yes. I posted it. The problem is that it breaks a couple things, most importantly the detour button. and a few other minor things. A software hack would accomplish the job much better then a hardware hack.
