oh you can't just leave us all hanging there, man!

ok ok ok, we give up. How'd you do it?

My Live version is coming in the mail. I beat the cut-off for purchasing (13 Aug 2003) by 13 days -- bought mine on 26 Aug 2003.

GPS Passion has a few forum reviews:

The Live feature sounds so big brother, but oh so cool!

i used a resource hacker and modified the size of a few things. as you can see, i've lost the compass so i'm working on getting that back. it would also be nice to have the total trip distance on the screen like in 2003 but i haven't had a lot of time to look at it. i haven't tried the live feature yet but the only other person i know with copilot is my brother who is in ny and since i'm in nc, we can't really test it out. what's with the cutoff?

You are going to post these modified files somewhere that the rest of us can get at right? I've got some Colocated space if you need somewhere to put them.

Alternately, you could also just post a how-to.

Also, is there some way you can make the voice for it quieter? I usualy listen to music at a level of 10 on my HU. The copilot voice is unbearably loud at anything over 3.

You should probably read the rest of the thread.

Well I got around to loading CP7 last night and I must say I am a little disapointed. I have not tweaked anything yet so all these problem might be able to be fixed.
Cons:
*Rerouting is slower then CP2K3
*GPS lock seem much slower (Not sure how this is possable, nothing changed other than unloading CP2k3 and loading CP7
*Default text (other than Driver mode top text) is small and hard to read on VGA 7" running 800x600
*They seem to have removed which side of the road the address is on.
Lots of wasted space on interface.

Pros:
Exit Numbers.
Updated street database
Ablity to show Speed and Current time.

I will update after I get to play with it more. I have a trip comming up this weekend which will be a good test for it.

do you have this download...it's a dead link...
anyone have it?

also does any have a "fix" for copilot live, I need to run it at 640X480 and the resolution requirments only allows you to view it at 800X600, so some button get cut off and I can't exit the program?

USB GPS Receiver

Has anyone been able to get the USB Copilot GPS receiver to work with this? I had a USB receiver from the older version. White puck style. It worked fine with my 2003, and right now my system still sees it. Copilot 7 can NOT see it.

I called TravRoute and they said that I need get a different receiver. They now have a USB to Serial receiver. It shows up as a virtual serial device by the sounds of what the tech people told me. Kind of ****ty if I can not use their older receiver. It is not that old.

Has anyone else gotten the USB white PUCK receiver to work? Straight USB version.

I have the same problem as bosstone as well. I have a 10.4" touch screen and Copilot 7.0 sucks on that big time. If anyone can create a fix for it I would be willing to chip in some dollars to get that done.
