Destinator2
i bought destinator 2 for my pocket pc, it works well on my toshiba E750.
now i'd like to build my carpc, do u think that i can use this software on pc or laptop? the antenna has a PS2 connector, but i don't know how to install software on laptop (windows XP) if i run it, it try to search a pda.
some suggestion? i hope to don't buy another version of destinator  (i spent 400 CAD$ for that)

I dont think Destinator PDA includes a PC version. You'd have to buy a PC version.

In theory you could plug your maps into the development kit and use that. though i'm unsure of the license implications of that.

They (PowerLOC) used to have a software only version for the PC; a version without the maps, exactly for your purpose. I believe it was ~$50.

Physically, you can do that (ie it will work).
However, again, I am unsure of the licensing problems of that.

It isn't there any more...
Moreover, they seem to have changed their policy somewhat with activation codes and such, preventing their software to be run on more than one device (per license), so I assume they don't offer it anymore.
It won't hurt to ask their sales though.
