Has anyone actually received Destinator 3 software yet? (not the SDK). Just wondering as I understand it was going to be January-ish that the PC version was shipping.
If so, any reviews of the PC version?

Yes what I really want to know is what makes it so superior over iGuidance and Routis, that I should spend 2X the money than either the aforementioned products !?

Pocket pc apps run in windows?
Excuse my ignorance if this is a dumb question, but i noticed on a few message boards people are using destinator in their car pc's. How do you run a pocket pc app in windows? Are these handheld users posting these?

There are versions of Destinator for Pocket PC and Windows. Destinator 3 for Windows I don't think is out yet, but Destinator 2 has been for a while.

Just an FYI...
Destinator 3 for PC is not out yet. I just called them and ordered Destinator 2 for the PC. They are going to upgrade me for free when Destinator 3 becomes available. Their expected release date (not holding my breath) is mid to late Q2.

Okay, so, somebody review destinator 2, since I'd be okay with getting a free bump to 3, but I want to know what makes 2 so superior to Iguidance or routis...

I ordered it from the source. It came next day international air from Canada.

I would call them and order it direct so you can speak with the sales person regarding the free upgrade.
RX7FDTT, I don't think Destinator 2 is superior to Routis. I think they are all about the same to tell you the truth. I just like the interface to Destinator better. That's my personal opinion though. Yours may vary.
I'm still installing my carputer, so it will be a little while until I can actually try Destinator out. A couple of weeks at least. I'll try to get you some screen shots soon though.

I'm thinking superior as in if it has voice reccognition, and a better interface, that makes me want to use it everyday instead of avoid it (delorme chough), then it'd be worth the extra $100, over routis, but if it's little bells and whistles, like it has a green dot that pulses, etc... I can't see paying $100 for a dot that pulses etc...

Well I don't believe Destinator 2 accepts voice commands. And in fact, I can't even find the input buttons for touch screen. I know they have it for Destinator 3, but I don't see it for Destinator 2.
Anyone know if they ripped the touchscreen buttons (the letters) out of the laptop version since they are assuming you are using it on a PC with a keyboard?

Find the file C:\PowerLOC\Destinator\COMMON\Interface\Destinator .inf and change the line
::D,740,580,639
to
::D,740,580,640
And you should see the OSK.
