Car mount antenna? Anyone done this here?

Can you use these antennas with a computer gps system? What kind of adapter would I need to go to USB? I chose these antennas for their bottom cord design since I'll be perma-mounting them on the roof of my audi in the location of the stock radio antenna.

I think you need to pick the GPS you want first. That will determine whether it can take an external antenna. A USB-based GPS is connected to and powered from the PC through the USB cable. The antenna is then connected to the GPS. Most usb GPS units I've seen have built-in antennas and don't really need an external one.

My Earthmate is mounted in my trunk underneath the rear shelf (made of cardboard with mostly clear view of the sky through rear window) and my reception is just fine.

Well, keep in mind this is a station wagon:

So I can't think of a better antenna then the ones I found. A usb antenna is fine and dandy, but I can't think of where I could mount it permanently and seamlessly unless it has a bottom wire feed and is surface mountable (i.e. in place of stock antenna).
