What is the best GPS software in the US?

I have the Earthmate (usb adaptor) and Street Atlas USA 2004, the software is pretty inacurate and hard to use, what other software would be compatible with this receiver? and would work better on a 7 inch Touchscreen?

I've been using Destinator and it does a great job-it's a little slow on the update, but I think that's because of the earthmate receiver. I haven't had a chance to play around with MS Mappoint with AGPS very much, but it did work with the earthmate the one time I fired it up. Other than that I've heard great things about Copilot, but it's pretty expensive. Also, I've read that Iguidance and Routis don't work with the earthmate.

My vote goes to Routis 2004. Clean display, can run on PPC or laptop, voice directions, quick rerouting, etc. Tested in multiple cities, worked without a flaw.
See www.deluo.com for demo and prices.

Regards, Andres

From what I've read the iGuidance and Routis are the same software with different frontends. People really seem to like this software. I've heard that Routis has a little better support than iGuidance.

Deluo website says that Routis will not work with Earthmate due to incompatible usb-to-serial driver. Has anybody verified this, or does Deluo just want you to buy their gps? Everyone said that the earthmate wouldn't work with Mappoint, but it does if you set up the usb-serial driver right. I can't understand why it wouldn't work with Routis also if the usb-to-serial is working correctly, i.e. making the usb appear as a virtual com port.

Does anyone know where to get a working demo version of Routis or iGuidance that I could check out with my earthmate? Routis does appear to be better than Street Atlas for use with a touchscreen. I just don't want to have to buy another gps.

Check out this post for info about earthmate and routis/iguidance problems:

The iGuidance by iNav is a very good SW package. I got a trial of the SW when I bought the TripNav200 (which is also a very good product).
