I have routis 2004, and Copilot Live 7 and i think each has their strong points. I happen to like the interface and all of the bells and whistles of Copilot better although right now i am using Iguidance 2 which is better compitition for Copilot. The things that Copilot is still lacking is a Night Mode and a true 3d view (this Iguidance 2 has)

Right now i am using Iguidance 2 over copilot becasue it starts up faster and doesn;t seem to use as much resources so i can leave it running in the back ground and switch to mini mode when i want to use the GPS

Problem solved

At certain point co pilot asked me if i will be using serial com port and i accidentally replied NO, it worked perfectly from then. I drove to sydney from melbourne last friday and came back on monday morning. It was great driving without having a clue and no maps. Co pilot did a very good job except when I drove in tunnels (Sydney is full of bridges and tunnels). Sometimes it took ages for copilot to determine the current position. Luckily my head unit has a built in gps which is connected to the car speedometer and can still give directions without receiving GPS signals temporarily.

How is the current verson's navigation? I used 2002 for a two week vacation and while I love the text to speech, good directions, and great interface but the thing LOVED to put me on the wrong road.

If I were driving down a road or a highway with another road running parallel close by it would frequently jump to the other road and give directions from there.

Also, there were a few times in NC or SC where it decided it would be fun to lead me down muddy dirt roads into the middle of nowhere AT NIGHT. That was not very fun considering I missed one turn and ended up in someone's driveway (since it looked just like the road). The only way I could get out is turning around on their grass. They turned on their lights and I was afraid they were going to come out shooting

One other problem it had was that it frequently marked north/south highways as east/west and vice versa.
