In the email you got from Osprey they say that it is possible to order a trial version of the Navigator - Turn By Turn, so I gave them a call to order a trial copy of this particular software.
But now they are saying that they have never given out trial copies of the turn by turn software, only for the Streets ahead software. (The same trial thingy that you can download from the web page)

Did you get a trial version of the Turn By Turn ?

the osprey seems the most cost effective, i have a copy of ozi-explorer, pm me if you want any info on it. Im seriously close to scanning in pages of the melway. I found a textfile with co-ordinates of many towns and areas in Australia (file contained about 100,000 entries), it's not that hard to calibrate a map page in Oziexplorer. Turn-by-turn direction is much more complicated. Perhaps a joint effort in scanning melway pages might be in order!?

MapSend is actually not bad at all, it shows you exacly the same as what you would get from Ozi Explorer and Melways.

The evaluation copy is a complete installation copy and can be simply registered on purchase.

Currently we are waiting on a delivery of Navigator Turn by Turn Version 2 which should be available for release by 14th December

Whether you purchase version 2 as an evaluation copy - then pay and register for continued access after the trial or not is really up to you. We would prefer you to be comfortable with the product - so perhaps this is the way to go. We have in the past given refunds if people found that the product didn't do what they had expected - but obviously we would prefer not to have this happen.

Ordering via email is fine - We can accept either Mastercard or Visa.

I just thought it was $10 for the demo.

I think if you look at just the price of this software $275, it is of course the cheapest software to get you started with gps. But dont forget that price is just for 1 state - ie. $275 x 6 = alot more expensive than even the big international brands (destinator). Also, did you know that you can send a request for a free evaluation software of the Aussie version Destinator2 or 3 I forgot? Yes, free! I ordered mine, but havent yet received it. Just cant wait to get it.

Anyway Nokia6600, please tell us what you think about the navigator software once u try out the 14days trial.

BTW, for you information, Travroute's Copilot live laptop 7 cost around $5xx for the whole of Australia. But whether its guidance is good enough, I wont comment on that!
