In GPS Make I selected NMEA only and set the correct port.. Everything is working in GPSS and in GPS information but not in OziExplorer.

Cant get any data from the GPS.

yup - i got the MOUSE gps - it works fine for me, dunno what's going on there guys

Freeman: my GPS took ages to warm up. the first time i plugged it in i'd only get really bad locks on like 1 sat - then after a while it just started locking onto heaps of sats. If your testing it indoors - make sure you put the reciever near a window or something, it doesn't work very well inside. It can also get interference from UV tinted windows, so that might be a problem too

Just wanted to let you know that for some reason it works with OziExplorer now

Are you sure you have it on the correct port ? The scan port thingy in GPS information thought that my BT adapter was a GPS unit.

Freeman, Do you think its worthwhile to setup a group buy of the Liliput 7" VGA Touchscreen for Aussies? Just like the ones being setup over in the US and Canada?

I actually contacted John Wu at Lilliput about the 618 screens back in December, and back then I could have ordered some cheap LCDs directly from him for a low price. But I need volumes to get the price, and have to order as a company.

Tell me what you think.

yeah deffinetly got any ideas on the prices? i would be very interested if the price was right, i may even get a couple for myself, for home use, and then i could relocate my screen to my rear head rests.

ahh the possibilities.

anyway yes im interested, i think Aphesis may alos be interested in the 7" touch as well, what size of order were u looking at?

Wholesale price for 618GL-70NP(XGA) i remember was US$230-240. Minimum 10 pcs. Shipped direct from China. As a company, I can order just 1 sample for US$10 extra per LCD plus shipping which was US$40 via EMS I think. I thought it was a good deal. But I went overseas for a couple of months and didnt bother to follow up.

Again, all these were quoted back in Decemeber last year, so if you guys are really interested, I can ask again and try to make a deal. Lets see what's interest we get in aust first.

Do you know the shipping cost to and from interstate cities, say if the shipment comes in from China, I will have to mail the LCDs out to you for example. I hope it doesnt cost alot though. Otherwise it wont be worthwhile.

Let me know on your thoughts.

Damon

Emmm.. The Germin MapSource is okay and detailed enough as long as dont have your GPS on. As soon as you start the GPS the map becomes usless and only display the main roads ? Whats up with that ?

Is WGS 84 the correct Datum ?

Sorry for all my stupid questions
