Virtual COM Port Splitter
Is anyone using a virtual com port splitter to allow two apps access to GPS data at the same time? I'd like to be able to have my GPS data available on two (or more) different COM ports for other apps to access.
Chris.

That is an interesting idea, but I don't think anyone has come up with software that could send the data coming from one com port into another virtual one.

I found a couple online but they seem to cost more than a second GPS would.

I couldn't find the DeviceComm Manager from Lantronix required for this tool. Can anyone provide a link?

Awesome! I just got this working, I have my GPS on COM4 now spewing NMEA data to COM5 and COM6! Now all I need to do is figure out how to read it in Delphi...!

GPS Data in the Deluo test app and another app simultaneously... it's a real pain working with a GPS indoors though!
Where is this going? Hopefully to allow summary data (Heading, Speed etc) while your GPS is running and, maybe, to compensate the volume depending on your speed.
Chris.

Woah - I've been looking for an app like this for a long time! Thank you everyone! Now I can do things like intercept com port traffic and change it up into the format I want it to be!
Cheers,
Taytay

Good find, I've been looking for something like this too. I found a bunch of things but they all wanted about $200 and this looks free!

I've currently got my GPS hooked up to a TinyTrack. I was just gonna try making a physical splitter to have the GPS also drive my M10000 serial port.
Will I be wasting my time?
Seems like it should work, especially given the low baud rates.
