InfoMap + Touchscreen

Been looking around for PC based GPS navigation software, and InfoMap from reviews looks good, and is cheap... but something that im worried about is how touchscreen friendly it is? small icons, etc etc...

Does anyone use this? is it easily customized ?

I tried it and found it too small and fiddly for touchscreen, unless you have a 15" touchscreen

Hi There,
First of all I'm declaring an interest as I sell Navigator.
Navigator is a Windows development of Infomap Routefinder. Becuase of this the icons are tiny and really aren't very easy to operate from a touchscreen.(I use a Lilliput). Having said that, You very rarely use them!
I turn the pc on, start Navigator and the virtual keyboard (really must get round to putting them in the startup folder). One of the irritating things about Navigator is the need to start GPS tracking manually. One you've done that everything else works fine with a touchscreen. Touch postcode or search, using the virtual keyboard key in the postcode or address you want. touch find. That'll give you a list of the matching results. touch the one you want, right touch it and touch "set navigation destination". One last touch and you're up and running. From there on the automatic recalc, visual and voice directions, head-up maps keep you on track without needing to use the touchscreen or keyboard/mouse.
It actually took me longer to type it in here that it did to do it!
It does have some customisation capability. Colours, fonts, what appears at what scale etc etc but there's no skinning or ability to add buttons. There is a professional version that has an ActiveX interface so you could develop your own! I've seen some of the development and there's some good stuff coming along. The one I really want to see is the touchscreen control panel which will answer most criticisms of it.
Navigator isn't the best, but for value for money it takes some beating.

mmm, acctually, I was talking about InfoMap Navigator

The GPS autostart has never phased me, I can do that myself by sending the routine to the application via API, easy enough.

Other than the ActiveX, what advantages does it have over the standard ed? (@£35)

Does everything that the standard edition does but also import databases on the map
step by step wizard to guide you through the import process
Import data bay postcode or geographical coordinates (latitude/longitude, British National Grid, Ordnance Survey Grid)
Represent data as icons and text labels

ActiveX control works with Visual Basic 6 and .NET, Visual C++ 5 and .NET, Delphi etc

Integtrate maps into your own programs
4 COM objects - map, user objects, database search and routing
add icons, polygons, lines, tracks and text to the map
find nearest function (for finding the nearest street, town etc)
convert between coordinates (lat/long and British National Grid)
postcode search with grid references (optional)

It does sound interresting, though at £280 its not the cheapest out there!

Is it any cheaper just for GB? or is "GB + Europe Main Roads" your most basic pack ?

Where can I get a demo then?

Yes for GB this is the basic Pack.(same for Germany/Italy/Spain/France)
Smaller Country's are cheaper.
Europe Main roads are always included.
