GPS for composite screens...Copilot 2003 vs. Routis 2004
Well, don't flame me yet, I've only been playing around with routis 2004 for a couple of days.....PLUS i have a tm-701L and not a VGA screen. Keep this in mind....
Copilot 2003 (not 7 live, which I hear is better) ---> Love the software, very intuitive and easy to navigate, with big buttons. Biggest problem is the voice is a computer generated voice and it sux. It says the actual street which to turn into, not just "turn left herE". Copilot 2003 only works with a few gps recievers but 7 live works with almost all of them. Lets you press one button and you can have a detour map incase traffic is heavy (very usefull in NYC!), you can view your itinerary with the push of one button and see if the software is actually taking you to some crazy address, also has an estimated time of arrival which is sometimes very usefull. All in all GREAT software minus the ugly computer voice and it doesn't have the pretty 3D maps
Routis 2004 ----> Garbage. Can't see jack shiiit at 800X600 resolution, maybe i'm stupid and I can't seem to find a way to make things bigger, any help? Keys are not well laid out, buttons are small, very hard to figure things out, I couldn't even put in my own freakin house address without problems. On the positive side, very nice female voice, but she only says "turn left" it doesn't say the name of the street or anything like that. Very nice 3D maps. Other than that, it's crapola compared to copilot. You can tell that routis is not as user friendly as copilot.
Just my 2 cents for what it's worth....
Anyone have any other input?
