Com Port Keeps Changing on Reboot

I cant get my com port to stay static for my usb gps. each reboot it changes to another number. Any ideas?

each time you plug your GPS into a different plug, it changes to another port. so try to stick with same plug. i have 2 USB ports on my laptop; one on the side and back. i now only plug my GPS to the back(com 4) only.

yeah its plugged into a hub but im not unplugging it... it just jumps around. i'll try a more solid hub
