Linux Gps/Navigation solution?

I'm looking for some gps/navigation software to run on my Xbox w/ Gentoox installed. any ideas? i have have a usb port modded to the xbox so i shouldn't have a problem using the little gps antenna thingy as long as i get drivers for it.

features i'm looking for:

turn by turn
dynamic routes (incase a mistake is made, it will recalculate the route)

and thats it in terms of required features.

i've searched the forum for this info, but most of it was posted over a few months ago so i'm sure there is new software and new opinions on that software. thanks for any input!

Where are you? If you are in europe then Infomap Navigator will do that and comes with both Windows and Linux versions on one disk for £35...

Personally I have not seen anything comparable to windows apps for linux If you find anything that has North America maps an SDK and is comparable to Routis, Mappoint, Copilot Live or Destinator please let us know.

You may want to try www.dashpc.com's forums too. They are a linux based car pc place.

Can the Xbox run wine? That might give you a (somewhat messy) solution?

If you live in the U.S., check out sumit's TMRS software. It uses the free Tiger map database to return a map from GPS coordinates and plan out routes. That combined with gpsd (which actually talks to your GPS hardware and give you your current position) should get you well on your way.
