Just purchased Deluo w/external antenna

Hi All,

I just ordered the Deluo GPS for Laptop or PDA with external antenna. (GPSXEA/GPSUNUSB). Was wondering if anyone one else has played with it. I'd like to mount the external antenna on top of my car.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Sad to say, I think I received a defective unit. I've e-mailed Deluo to see what they can do. The unit never achieves a lock (antenna on roof of car and no trees or buildings around me) and 'says' it sees 4 satellites but can't track any. Left it on for 20 minutes. Still the same thing.

What's strange is when I bring it indoors and cover it in tin-foil, nowhere near a window, the Deluo diagnostic software says it's still tracking 4 satellites.

I've tried it with and without the external antenna. No source of interference of GPS signals. Red light keeps blinking. And I've got valid NMEA data coming back from the unit.

Oh well.

NEW UPDATE:

Received the replacement unit from Deluo today. GPS works perfectly. I did some more testing and it appears the external antenna was defective. I hacked out the default 4800 bps to 9600 bps on the GM-305 'GPS Mouse' and it's working PERFECTLY.

I can now highly recommend Deluo. This unit, even though it does not have WAAS, is extremely accurate. Locked onto 8-10 satellites instantly in Seattle, WA.

[Additional update]: I found software which can change the default 4800 bps to 9600 bps on the Deluo GPS mouse (based off the EverMore OEM). I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect the performance of the unit, but thought I would bump it up to 9600 bps anyway.

If anyone is interested in it, please let me know.

Hey, you purchased the one with the external antenna? (This one: http://www.deluoelectronics.com/cust...7&cat=1&page=1 ?)

How's the reception? Do you get a good lock? How many satellites?

Which external antenna did you get? and how did you boost the signal?

Yes, I have many questions

I wish I had known about this before I bought my Rayming TripNav gps mouse. I'd love to be able to use an external antenna. I leave my TripNav mounted on the trunk, but I pull it off when it rains hard or when I go through a car wash.I'd love to be able to leave it alone!

I have one of the original USB GPS mice from Deluo. Sometimes getting a lock was tricky, but once locked it was great. Shame it has no external antenna though.
