GPS and convertible top

I have a RoyalTek RGM-2000.. My car is a 95 Conv Mustang GT. It has a 4 point roll cage in it. I want to mount a little plate to the bottom of the rollcage that sticks out so I could then mount the GPS unit on it and incase it in a plastic/plexi glass tinted box so it would be next to invisible.

My question is if the GPS will work thru the convertible top?

as long as its not metal (or metallic coated, or has metal fibers), it will work through the top

and, of course, you could always just test it to see if it works
