Yes, almost there, luckily I've been out and about recently so I've had a chance to test it properly! Options to limit number of beeps etc are now in place, just sorting out the 'jumping' at the moment - mainly just a smoothing algorithm to try and iron out silly GPS inputs - much like the map software does I'd imagine... Hopefully have something ready for next week.
Regarding getting the data from a B2 unit or similar - I've worked out most of what the data means now so might start hosting 'current' data on my webspace for download, includes speed limits, direction of camera etc - that'll be another release away yet though!

Hi, just had chance to test this software - great work!
Just an idea. Sorry if this has been suggested elsewhere but I've very little time to post/read recently: -
Would be great with a big button that you could press when passing a speed camera it doesn't know about. It adds the camera to the "current" database, and also into a separate file that can be sent to mobilegpswhojermacallits to update their central database. There's about 20 new cameras round me I could add for a start
Also had a problem in that it wouldn't let me hibernate when it was running. Not sure if this was your software or that xport thing will investigate more if I get a chance, but it's imperative that I can hibernate.
Great work tho, keep it up!

Had a looky at the software, must say looks very impressive. Gotta road test it when i get all my gear
One thing that worries me is the age of the database. If, like in a previous message, you could simply press a button to "ADD NEW CAMERA" as you drive past that would be awesome. Then I can make sure that all cameras in my area etc are mapped for next time!
Otherwise tho, awesome. Keep it up. BTW, I use navigator as well, and if i could get the two working together i would love it!

Hi there
Seems like a great program, before DL it and testing it, since I'm living in Sweden and proberly never will drive all the way to England I am wondering - the database in this project, is it possible to replace that with one we make for Sweden? Or how is this imported, will be a great addition to my already excisting setup- at the moment I am running a laptop with Autoroute on it and a GPS module, but main interesst for us here in Sweden is if it is possible to import a special database for us??
Oh, stupid me, just noticed that it mentions something about CSV files on the HP, but am I guessibng right if we who lives in Sweden can start collecting data for the cameras and simply make a text file, save in the CSV format and the program will import that and gives us warnings?

Great program Goto10!
I wanted to do this myself but it looks like you've already got it sussed. Just a couple of ideas though.
1. I currently use CheckPoint along with TomTom Navigator on my PocketPC. This works great and gives almost zero false readings. The Checkpoint software only warns you if the approaching camera is within a certain angle. (15 degrees I think but can be changed)
2. Checkpoint warns in seconds (based on current speed) rather than metres. Also, it only warns twice - once at 20 secs, and once at 10secs (user configurable) - I find this more than enough. Unfortunately, -- didn't seem accurate enough to reduce the warning to such a close proximity, but I read that you recently changed the algorithym so that could be why...
3. The IP feature is great (I'll want to use this in my software) but it crashes the program on my machine when disconnecting - even with the included vb app.
Great work - can't wait to have it running constantly on my CarPC.

That should work fine. If you download the UK database from the link on
Goto10's site you'll see the format pocketgps use which you can replicate.

Thanks for the reply,
Great, that actually makes me think I will set up a subsite to my webhotel so we can collect data from England, Nordics and Germany might even other, but for a start this should be enough to see if there is interrest, and simply have people reporting in the cameras by mails, then update the csv-files - people can then just DL the new files and import them, be a lot of work in the begining - will definitly look into this when I get back from my vacation

**Update**
Actually I just decided that I will register my subdomain today so I just need to set up pages in the different languages, and then start collecting, sjould be easy to setup during the weekend.

Woohoo! Sorry kinda off-topic this, but I just put a deposit down for a TVR Griffith 500!! Gonna have to find a way to get a screen in there, looks like I'll need the speed camera database more than ever :P

Failed to load control 'CommonDialog' frorm Comdlg32.ocx. Your version of COMDLG32.OCX may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.
What does this mean?

You are probably just missing the Visual Basic 6 Runtime files which are required by every application written in VB such as EvetS.
You can download them from the Microsoft website HERE

I am currently implementing something into AIMEE which follows the same principles as this software.
It will work with any country that has TomTom Navigator compatible POIs for speed cameras, and will even warn you of the speed of the cameras
It will also work whether you have/use GPS software or not, it will either read from the GPS software or direct from the GPS receiver
I am mentioning this now as Goto10 seems to be AWOL Which is a shame, as this application looks very good, and very promising.

I've only just noticed this in the forum, and I'll be downloading this after work today! Very excited, so I'll give you my feedback later in the week!
