It's built into the Road Angel (speed camera detector) and used to use it connected via serial. Most of the time is quite good , quick re-aquisition etc - it has to be as the speed camera device needs to know where it is!

I did think about buying the USB version on it's own but it cost too much

No problem. I also found the downloads on the Holux website (in the embedded section I think) quite useful, as it has tools for manipulating the GPS device, and documentation on the NMEA protocol if you need it

Does anyone know if this receiver is weatherproof and safe to mount on the roof of a car?

Awesome. Thanks!

One more question: If I paint it to color match the rest of my car, would that interfere at all with its functioning?

Feedback when you can...

@ FetLyd

Have you received the Holux GPS Receiver, GM-210 yet? If so can you provide some feedback information? Average locking time, resume on standby, hibernation etc.

Thanks in advance
