Sure MapPoint will work. But MapPoint always show north up (as a normal map) but Destinator ond TomTom rotate the map so up is the direction you drive, and that is much easyier for you as driver.

The maps on Autoroute (should have the same map as Mappoint) cover the whole norway but not very detailed, alot of side roads are missing.

I have used "route 66" to navigate around oslo. This seems to be good with street level but only covers oslo.

So I end up using both...not axactly ideal but I had no choice.

TomTom should be detailed in main europe...I remember having 8 CD just for the maps. Mappoint uses 2 CD for the whole world

Im talking about the whole europe needing 8CDs for TomTom (and I do have them all) compared to Mappoint 2004 2CD which I also have...just trying to explain how detailed they are by the number of CDs

Stick with TomTom only if you have a PDA because they dont work on PC. For Mappoint Check MS website if you wanna see the map coverage in scandinavia...I doubt its gonna be any good.

You could also consider Infomap Navigator Europe which covers the whole of Scandanavia. Great value for money at £49.99. Comes on a single DVD. More info from Action Replay

Infomap Navigator is great except for it's awkward to use with a touchscreen, because of the many small buttons. Another minus is that you'll have to load each country separately. In other words, you can't plan a route from Norway, via Sweden to Finland etc. in one go.
Infomap have however promised to fix this in the next version, and they will have an upgrade package for registred users.

Otherwise it's great with speech etc.

Tom

You are absolutely right about the current version. The new one ships next week and has cross country routing, Icons will be 4 times as big (and you can remove the ones you don't want). The current position will show on both the next junction map and the aerial view. Voice prompts can be in metric or imperial as well. The maps are significantly improved as well.

Sounds like a winner, Falken!
I'll upgrade my Navigator as soon as it's available.
