Trimble Svee6 (CM3) and Routis

hey all, i've been away from the forum for quite some time now cause of school, but...i needs info everyone's like, aw he's back . ok so anyways, i finally got my pooor gps goin again after an antenna from gpsgeek.com decided to die about 2 weeks after getting it. and they want 4.95 to have it shipped back to them and whatnot, so i just went and bought a trimble antenna thats for this receiver (svee6) and its happy again. so heres the problem, i'm all excited now, pull out routis, throw it on the laptop that actually has a serial port, install the NY map, reprogram the gps for nmea output, voila! it should work, right? nope hehe. the gps receiver is fine, and it works w/ microshaft street and trips 2002. so i pop open hyper terminal, and look @ the messages comin out. they are nmea messages, but by lookin @ the protocol and what messages there r for nmea 0183, i'm wonderin if routis is lookin for some other messages. the only two comin outta the receiver are $GPGGA and $GPVTG. every now and then on startup, routis'll update my lat/long once, but thats it. apparently i can enable the other messages for output usin trimble's TSIP protocol, but ya can screw stuff up nicely if ya send it the wrong commands. so basically i'm lookin to see if any of you know of what nmea messages routis likes. or maybe someone thats got routis workin can throw up hyperterminal and copy their output (once the satellites are locked on) and post em on here. i searched for this, and by the looks of it there are similar problems using the trimble gps', as they all seem to output the same two nmea messages. again i know that the gps works and the serial stuff is good 2 go as i've used trimble's gpssk and that gives me speed, altitude, blah blah blah, and streets and trips likes it. i would like to get this thing working w/ routis, but if not, theres a gps on ebay that craps out all 7 messages, so....i dunno. if any of you can help, that'd be great. if i can get the other messages triggered and working w/ routis i'll let ya all know (even though u all probably use those hot new 12 channel gps receivers lol ) thanks, andy

hmm well this sux, the svee6 only outputs the two nmea messages i tried activating the other messages, but the command isn't recognized, and the manual only says stuff about those two messages, and nothing else, so it looks like its time for a better gps lol. oh well, later
