GPS Mouse (BU303) Notes

I picked this GPS mouse up on ebay a few months ago for $85... and it is worth every penny and then some!

First off, installation is a breeze.. plug it in, run the cd. Done.

I drove across country on my maiden Carputer trip and the GPS didn't slip up once.. I did have a few problems getting signal through my rear window, but once I ran the mouse out the window I got near perfect lock everytime and immediatly. It also has a magnetic base which just sticks right to the roof of the car. I drove through Arizona and Nevada heat and never had a single problem. I drove through 3 days of Rain up north... never a problem.

In fact, we just had 'a 1000 year storm here in NJ -- the kind of rain that comes once in a 1000 years ... 11" fell in a day. We're a federal disater area right now... and when I started Routis up during it.. the mouse worked perfectly... talk about waterproof!

I did have one problem recently where the reciever wouldn't get a lock. I changed USB ports and the problem disappeared. A sound problem I was having miraculously disappeared at the same time... weird.

I don't know why I'm posting this. I think I'm both tired, and surprised with the quality of this thing... maybe I'm looking for similar stories of it lasting or not lasting... maybe I just want to let everyone who's looking for a good usb gps reciever to go with the BU-303.

And no, I don't sell them. This isn't shameless advertising. Maybe people can point to this post when a newbie asks about GPS mice... lol

Good news, that's the one I've just got.
£30 inc. shipping on eBay. Bargain.

Looked good, and when I tested it (out of the car) it locked a whole bunch of satellites with a pretty obstructed view of the sky.

Hopefully mine will perform as well as yours did in the car.

Got mine for $72 shipped. So far it's worked very well. In a few weeks it will make it's true tests going from Maryland to Ohio.

Stay safe in the NJ flooding. I've been hearing about it in the news and know first hand what floods can do.

Also glad to hear you're pleased with Routis as that's the software I'll be using as well.

I bought one off eBay about 3 or 4 months ago and the wankers still haven't shipped it, and seem to have stopped responding to my emails.

What is the location of the person you bought it from?

Mine came from China (as I recall) and arrived in a week. Pretty decent for bouncing around the world. Sorry you're not having luck with an ebayer.

got my 303 here on mp3car.com, 55.00 shipped and it works fantastic. I've an old Deluo I bought on eBay and the 303 locks much faster than that one.
