Routis 2004 buttons are too small on a 7" widescreen
is there any program or way to run routis (I love the functionality and simplicity of routis) that has somewhat larger buttons? I simply cant read for example distance to the next turn without really straining with my face on teh screen, thats not safe!
furthermore, the buttons are too small, for example, the volume button is very difficult to hit. More importantly, the zoom buttons are dang hard to hit! thats definitely a key feature id like to use more often!
the arrow that pinpoints hte location of my vehicle is too small, I would liek that larger....
is there a way to blow up the program kindergarden size so everything is nice and big?

There are no options in the program obviously...
This seems to be the major problem with all the GPS software. Nothing draws the roads, road labels, or buttons big enough. CoPilot almost gets it right on the size of the buttons!
Maybe there is a screen magnifier that can force routis to start at something low resolution (400x300) and then scale it up to full screen.. I googled a bit but found nothing.

is co-Pilot as user friendly and simple as routis? or is it as complex and feature laden as street atlas?

No prob. Only thing that kinda sucks is that Lilliputs seem to lag on resolution changes. I have my carputer on a test bench hooked up to a 7" Lilli and a 21" CRT, when I change resolutions the CRT is instant and the Lilli can take almost 5 seconds sometimes. I was wondering about going even smaller than 640x480 but it doesn't seem that any video drivers support resolutions that small anymore.

I have been messing around with Resource Hacker in an attempt to enlarge most of the menus... It works maybe 60%.. The positioning on some of the menus seems to be controlled only about half way by the dialog resources.
All of the map drawing commands are done directly to GDI, so things like line widths are internal variables that are going to be very very hard to change (or in some cases impossible if the call is to the GDI line function and not to the poly function)

Ah. I just read Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub. Gork is a very cool and very evil character in that book.
Anyway, back to topic!
