Microsoft Streets & Trips 2005 - Way Better!!!!!!
I just purchased the 2005 version of the product. I must say it's the best to date. The gps functionality has been changed. The maps now can centre on the page as you drive. Also the maps can swivel with the direction of your travel. It nice because it displays the map as always moving up. So it's more align to what you are seeing outside of your vehicle.
Microsoft has also included the auto route when you are off coarse. You have to click on the auto-route button, but it works. It calculated the new route just fine.
After playing around with it for about 4 hours. I must say that Microsoft has finally listen to people.
I was going to buy the copy with their gps sensor. I just did not like the "Microsoft" label which is embedded into the top of the gps sensor. When someone from the street looks into my wind shield and see stuff like that. It's gone.
I was more than happy with my $49.00+$15 rebate purchase.
Dwaine.

Rotate Map feature implemented, based on where you're heading.

Autoroute functions?
How are the autoroute functions? Does it tell you with ample warning a turn is coming via a voice prompt?
Maybe all these damn plugins will soon vanish and we can just buy MS Streets and Trips 2005!

I had the opportunity to try it out today. It's better than 2004 but it still sucks as a car navigation. Routis works much better and is as lot more touchscreen friendly. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Perhaps though, when this functionality is brought out with MapPoint, it will be usable with the COM object, with easier navigation than before?

We can only hope.
We can only hope that Streets and Trips 2005 can have plugins (AGPS AGPS!). But for now, this software is pretty useless for in car navigation.
I'm sticking with Mappoint 2004 and the AGPS plugin.
