No I wouldn't. When I get some more scratch I may get another branded software. Of course GPS isn't really a need for me so I'm in no rush to change. The reciever has worked flawlessly for me though.

Don't forget the GPS is likely to be accurate....the map may be wrong. In fact both SA2004 ans Copilot7/live both have the same innacurate route of a road near me. The road moved to go over a new bridge and I guess nobodys map has noticed yet. It hasn't moved much but it shows me driving off the road and over some side streets (according to the map anyway).

I've even noticed a few missing roads here & there.

Street Atlas

I loved Street Atlas 2004, I have since bought 2005 and it is horrible. It doesnt find alot of addresses (in major cities too) and sometimes reverts to a white screen when I try to zoom (with factory settings). I'd stick to 2004 if i were you.

Don't mean to be critical as a newbie, but I would beg to differ. Mine "instantly" reroutes me in the event I get off the designated path. Did so this morning. Recalculated the route within 5-10 seconds.

Using SA2005 and Earthmate GPS.

I've experienced quite poor performance from the Earthmate. My old Tripmate was a much better GPS (until it died a horrible death...wish I had given it a bit more filtering on its input power). The Earthmate lost lock very frequently (regular glass window, no metallic-particle tinting).

Ok just to stop the thread, this has been discussed countless times before.
Anyway, the conclusion is allways ditch Delorme's Street Atlass. Allthough accurate in some areas, very inaccurate in most. Most people here are using iGuidance or Routis now. This software has proven to be incredibly accurate, instant re-routing, voice guided and designed for touchscreen use, but can also be used with non-touch screens.
Allthough co-pilot is nice it is not cheap. Buy it new for about $200.00. iGuidance new is only $100.00 and has all the feature of co-pilot and more.

As far as the GPS unit it self goes, I do not know. I am using the BU-303 GPS reciever on ebay. Bought it 2 years ago for $80.00 it now goes for about $50.00. It is great, never had any problems. It is mounted on my roof using it's magnetic base, because yes it is water proof. It has been there for about 8 months now. My reasonf or placing it there was simply for better view of the sky (more sattelite coverage).

Just my 2cents
