where to put it?

I got a new gps mouse and ahve had it on my dash for the day to play but want to mount it outside cause it gets 50% better signal out there. was thinking hood but just tried it and when i shut the hood down it bounces up... oil change guys will love that. so now I dunno where to put it roof is best obviously but how have you guys ran it to the roof drill a hole seems drastic and would have to be big to fit the usb cable ends threw. Anyway I'd liek to see you mounts if possible and hear any suggestions. Thanks.

Well, I don't think there is one ultimate solution, but you could always but it on the trunk of your car and glue it in. would work the same way as the hood idea. Course, you can also use the sunroof if u have one.

I am going to put mine under the windshield wiper cowl. May not give the best reception but it won't be seen. It is plastic so it will work.

At least on my car...

That is a good idea, some cowls have different designs, so maybe his would accomidate the GPS mouse better. Check out my GPS mount that im just about to take pictures of once I have fixed it. - Its for a handheld tho, I will edit this post with link when its up.

I started to lay out the design of my system with hardware and all, I won a GPS Mouse on eBay and bought a keyboard that I will use... Since then, I havn't done anything with the "carputer"

My car needs to many other things that are a lot more important (especially to me) than a computer and stereo. I would be doing both at the same time. Just look at the type of car I have and you know stuff isn't going to be cheap.

My computer/stereo is being put off till next year. I don't think the stereo plans will change but I am sure I will pick out some newer hardware when I get to this point.

As for now, I play with the GPS using my laptop and just keep reading this forum to make my install that much better.
