Can I paint my earthmate?

Would it hurt my earthmate if I took a can of flat spray paint and painted it from that stickout yellow to maybe black or grey?

Makes sure there is no metal in the paint. If should be fine.

I would recomend if you remove the cover first, you don't want any thing inside the housing.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll take the top off and give it a once over.

Try to track down some vinyl dye, it's a spray that permanently dyes plastics. You'll probably have to dye it white first, and then whatever color you want. Or black. It has the advantage of not scratching off like regular paint (which just adheres to the surface) will.

About how much does this cost?
I mean if it's expensive. I'll just use the $1 spray paint and touch it up every so often..Call me cheap

Sticking with the $1 paint you've got would be best then, this stuff runs about $7/can.

$7 a can ouch that is steep. Would have to find a ton of other stuff to dye to make it worth it...

vinyl die is the best, i have a can of mat black. used it to paint a cd-rom drive and the case of a pc. still loads left.

Best thing to do when spraypainting is light coat, lots of times. not one big coat of paint.

I bought a spray can of vinyl dye for only $4 dollars at the auto parts store. I had one use for it, but the stuff is so cool I started finding excuses to paint things black.
