Iguidance reroute problem?

First Iguidance 2.0 works with the Rand McNally GPS receiver (serial). I thought I'd add that in for anyone searching.

But while using it if I go off route Iguidance takes maybe 3-5 seconds to recalculate a new route, by that time I'm already a whole street away. Does everyone else get such a slow rerouting time? It could also be my receiver but I only have my Rand NcNally receiver ofcourse.

Peace out. Also Routis sucks, Iguidance works better.

iGuidance re-routes pretty damn fast compared to some other SPS navigation programs I've used. I'm using a 600Mhz PIII system this is playing mp3s, running other programs like netstumbler, too. I guess you could just look at the on screen map to guess where it would re-route you.

@ faichiu,

Routis and iGuidance are one in the same. Just distributated under different names.

Actually no. Routis won't work for a Rand NcNally receiver, Iguidance will. I know don't ask me why they do look identical. Also Iguidance takes forever to lock on, maybe 1 minute. Routis, Street Atlas, Copilot all lock on automatically.

Again that could be due to my receiver.

When I've played with Routis in the car it seemed to re-route really quick. What does suck however, is when a road does not show in R/iG or when I do not want to take the route they say, the program tends to get a bit ****ed off. Dinging alot and telling me to make a U-turn ASAP.... Mean program....

It reroutes pretty quick for me also and it does it automaticlly without me having to hit a key which is nice and even though the lady gripes she sure sounds better than a computer gen voice. I'm still playing with it around town, I need to find a way to tweak it, I can take the interstate from my house to my parents , but iguidance wants to send me through the city on the bypass but we've got to be the only citiy in the US with a TON of stop lights so it's not really a bypass. I really need to test it going to a city that I'm not familar with Is there anyway to make the street fonts bigger, I mean I'm using a 15" laptop screen and they can be hard to see, are there any hacks or tweaks to change the colors man they are aweful to me but I guess thats a personal pref. I wish there was a Demo of the new copilot out...

I also think iGuidance 2.0 reroutes pretty quickly. I've been using it regularly for the past few weeks. I've been using the nighttime colors over the day colors because it seems to be easier to see during the day.

Alright so it is my gps receiver. What can you do ?
But I do like the overall feel of iGuidance. Street names are small but legible on XGA (800x600). 3D view is not bad.

I just looked on gpspassion and there seems to be a theme/color ini file that lets you mess with the width of the streets and colors so I'm going to play with it

I noticed posts about it but couldn't find the file. I tried looking for it on iNav's website. Do you know where I can download it?

After reading through the entire thread over at gpspassion. Iguidance has released a second file that make more items customizable. Doesn't look like it will be posted over there because Iguidance reps don't want it to be available to non registered users.

Does anyone have theme.ini and theme2.ini? They didn't say it couldn't be posted over here...
