Yes, very sad about Routis discontinuation. But look on the bright side, even though Routis is done, iGuidance is a top notch replacement. From what I read somewhere, maybe here, maybe at GPSPassion, is that iNavigation (think thats the name) creates a base software and mapping database. Then Routis, iGuidance, and few a other packages are basically all the same with minor differences.

That is terrible, I hate that I was right.

Now, I have to hook up my file server to get a "trial" version for I guidance. Is it iGuidance2 or just iGuidance?

well, the new version is iGuidance 2 with version 2.1 on the horizon to fix issues. Its basically Routis 04 with a more colorful map which is a plus, specially living near the coast (feels weird when driving and not seeing blue on the map) and an update POI map. Some maps also have updated street coverage, but that depends by state.

I'm sure the conversion will seem seemless.

thats gotta suck. i've been waiting and waiting for routis2005. i've been using routis2004 when it first hit the market. routis 2004 was cheap and very useful on all my trips. i wonder how good the microsoft street 2005 is.
