Deluo stopped selling Routis 2004?

I just noticed that Deluo has stopped selling Routis 2004 on their site could this mean that a new version is coming out soon?

http://www.deluoelectronics.com

I have emailed them a couple of times in the past few months and they said originally that Routis 2005 was supposed to be out in September, but they were having "production delays."

hmmmm...

Hmm that is weird.... plus www.routis.com doesn't goto their software only page anymore...
it's forwarded right to the deluo main page.

Maybe they did just drop it... I mean why wouldn't they sell 2004 right up to the 2005 release?

I know they've been sending me alot of $20 off GPS receiver upgrade emails lately...

I'll have to keep an eye out...

Thanks for info

I hope I'm wrong, but that tells me that they're trying to get Routis to quietly go away. After all these delays and iGuidance2 has been out for so long now?? I see the still have Rand McNally Software listed. Perhaps that's what they're going with.

That would suck for us Routis owners. Now we'll have to either plead with iNav to figure out a way to make their upgrade work for Routis or just bite the bullet and buy iGuidance2.

Although from what I've heard... I'm still holding steady with Routis2004. If there was a massive improvement of the POI and maps then it'd be a different story.

That would be sad if true. Routis is one quality peice of work which is at the heart of my incar navigation system and am truly on the binds waiting to buy the 2005 release. Hopefuly this just means that 2005 is comming out, but that seems like wishful thinking.

I sent them an email a few days ago and they told me that they were waiting for Routis 2005 to come out, in fact here is the email:

Dear Wan,

We are writing to offer you our company’s sincerest apologies for the inconveniences caused to you by the discontinuation of Routis. This falls way below our usual standards of service but we have decided to offer you a better product instead, although this means changing the product for another one.

We feel very sorry as soon as wisdom dictates and accept full responsibility for not keeping our promises. We hope you can accept our sincere excuses.

In the hope of making some amends to all the customers that have already bought one of our GPS receivers and were expecting for the new release of Routis 2005, we would like you to attend our new product Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 at a special price of USD 25.00 only for this time.

This is an excellent advanced navigation software which does not require an Internet connection to calculate routes. It supports Pocket PCs, Laptops and Windows based Smartphones and includes US and Canada maps.

We will receive any inquiries you may have about this matter and will be glad to answer them.

Hope to serve you soon.
The Deluo Team.

Not sure where they got Wan, my name is Wes, but at least they responded. I guess in the mean time I'm going to go get the Earthmate software with the GPS unit and buy Routis 2005 when it comes out. I dunno what Deluo was thinking but they should at least make some note on their site that 2005 is coming out, I'm sure there are quite a few people that were going to get it for Christmas but can't now.

You may be waiting a long time (forever) for Routis 2005, the way the guy from Routis phrased that email and used the word "discontinuation", I don't think that it will ever come out.

I saw this over at gpspassion.com so it looks like Routis is done:

"Unfortunately Deluo will no longer sell the excellent Routis software. They are still a good source for good priced GPS receivers and hardware/software bundles.

-----------------------

Dear Marvin,

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, Routis has been discontinued and is no longer available. However, we have Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 which is also an excellent software. This a navigation software does not require an internet connection to calculate routes. It has US and Canada maps and allows you to map out multiple destinations. It also allows you to import your contacts to your maps and more interesting features. Streets and Trips supports Pocket PCs, laptops and Windows based smartphones. Please note that this software does not have voice features.

Best Regards,
The Deluo Team"

Wonder if anyone has written them yet and said... OK, fine it's disc. But what about all the people who bought this product who are now out of updates?

Do you honestly thing I'm going to buy ANOTHER product from you??

Since it seems to be a dead stick now, I would really like to know if there's a way to get the iGuidance updates to work with it.
