okay, grab my zip file there, its 20 pictures, 18 of them are various pointers, two are the zoom buttons. they are all labeled by a three digit number.

now go back to page 6 or 7, I think it was 7, there is a link for a resource hack program. grab that, then open up iguidance.exe.

youll see a folder called bitmap with a zillion bitmaps inside for all the different icons you can change. they are all labeled using three digit numbers. I run routis, so mine correspond to the icons in routis.exe, number by number, so its completely brainless.

you may have to confirm the icons are the same, itll display the icon in the resource hack.

one of the menus has an "exchange bitmap" or some command like that, you can use that to change the bitmaps, simply point to where you extracted the bitmaps to, then save out the .exe, and its now written in!

makes it much much easier to see. its just a teeny touch too big in 800 mode for streets that are extreemely close together, but I find it much much much nicer than the original bitmap size.

good luck!

This resource hacker, once you learn to use it, is just about the greatest thing ever.

I haven't changed anything in my car yet, but I've been going hog wild with changing things on the iGuidance program I put on my desktop (which I put here just to screw with)

Right now not only are the zoom buttons big, but instead of a little arrow telling me where I am, it's a transformers logo.

Allright I just played with it more. I managed to change the size of the menus. Only problem is the maps still. I think the street names may be embedded in the map. I don't know how to change that.

I could be wrong. I hope I am.

I read every bit of that on this thread and the others. I didn't see anything about making the street names bigger, just for changing the road colors. Did I manage to miss the street name part?

you must have not read them, the whole original purpose of this thread was to increase the font size of the street names, which was accomplished.
Im not going to spoon feed it to you, esp since all the revelent info is right here in this thread. Read the first few post again, and also read post 18, again.

this is the thread with more info on the topic and how to edit the file.
I just copied and pasted the file from here and made my own. The developers of iguidance have asked not to put the file on forums, so i wont. But information like this should be free to all, its just a setting file so i dont know why they have there panties all in a bunch.

Anyway, you can edit the font text size and road colors, road width etc from this file.
Look at the link above for a pic that explains how to properly edit the file. Text is at the bottom of the file and is set to 20+, the colors are also different for roads etc, this is my custom file i hand edited for me. Change stuff to be the way you want if you dont like my colors.

I said I did read them. Did you think I was lying? Pardon me if I managed to read this many posts and didn't understand the final sollution. I did make a theme.ini file as was recommended in this thread. It didn't seem to change anything. And I got under the impression that it was just supposed to change the colors to add more contrast. But it didn't even do that for me.

Just because I didn't realize the answer was staring at me doesn't mean I didn't read them or that I need anything "spoon fed" to me, "again".

A simple "Hey man, we figured it out. You must have missed the answer. Read post 18" would have sufficed. The attitude seemed a little childish.

If I read your attitude incorectly, then nevermind. But if you were trying to be a smartass, I think that's a little juvenile. Sort of like someone who can't be good enough unless they can show others they knew something before someone else.

Where is the zip file? I don't feel like looking through 11 pages to find it!

There wasn't a zip file. It's this text. Supposedly you just cut and paste it and name the file you put it in theme.ini and it'll work, allowing you to manipulate everything seen in the list. It didn't work for me. I must be making the theme file wrong, but I have no idea how.

Oh and I do now see the 1 line in the whole thread that has to do with actually changing the size of the street names. Excuuuuuuuuuuussssseee me for not seeing it the first time I read through.

Oh that file! That one was fun! That one I'm still playing with to adjust the icon sizes and what not. That file just gives you already made bigger icons to import with when you're using the resource hacker. That file is a very handy start. But once you start playing with it you realize there is SOOOO much more you can do.

I thought you meant the color changing theme file.

not trying to be a smart ***, just simply trying to stear you in the right direction. I dont need to show anyone i know something before them, im here to help anyone who needs it (just ask around) and you will see the same.
Read the information that was given to you, if you dont understand it say you dont understand it and also say what part of it you dont understand. But simply saying i did read it leaves a lot to be desired if you want help.
no one else seemed to have any problems reading the same info and getting everything to work. You even posted the contents of the needed file "after" i suspect you actually read/ processed everything.

why not just give you a step by step from the first place? Well ive done that allready, not for you but for many of the people replying to this thread, which is huge if you havent noticed (which is why i pointed you to the exact post number that would give you the most info). But all that takes time, time that not everyone has to dedicate to every person who ask a question every time.
Again, not trying to be a smart ***, but all the info is right here, and no one else is having a problem understanding it. Which makes people think you didnt do your homework like you said, which makes people less responsive to your request.

"A simple "Hey man, we figured it out. You must have missed the answer. Read post 18" would have sufficed. The attitude seemed a little childish. "

I thought thats exactly what i did when i told you to look at the specified post? NO?

anywho, it seems you have the info you need to make the street names bigger. If this is still not working for you please say so. Im sure someone will help you. Maybe even me.

Well I'm glad to see I took that in the wrong way. So many people are so very helpful (not to even mention how knowledgable most of the regulars are) I was annoyed that someone would break from that routine to be a snob.

I'm truly glad I was wrong!

I read your post at work today about 5 minutes after a drug addict (That's who I deal with) blew up in my face. I didn't have a very positive view of humanity at that point. I am glad to see that I saw it from a bad perspective. Sorry to have called you out for something you didn't do.

As for the last line of the theme.ini file, what has everyone found to be a workable size to put in there?
