com port splitter, yeah i know XPORT, but no

Ok, does anyone know where i can get a com port splitter that

A. works

B. doesnt cost an arm and a leg, free would be good.

Ive tried and tried to use xport and xport2 but neither of them work, i keep getting errors or nothing happens at all when i try to connect to the virtual ports. Not sure whats wrong with it, but i dont have anymore time to waste trying to get it to work.

I found and downloaded, this

and when i first used it I actually felt like the guy in the pic on there site, lol.
It works and i had no problems setting it up, does what it says on the box.
But... that box cost 140 bucks!! ouch!

so are there any other options out there?

Have you tried Comfoolery? I used it a while ago, worked pretty well.

I was recommended that one too, haven't tried it but $100 is nuts. It's a bit sad when it's cheaper to buy a second GPS than to split the port.

GPS Gate Express $14.95. I have the standard version and it works like a charm.

Also, just curious what are you guys connecting to your extra gps com ports?
Im also looking for a gps speedo and maybe an app that would raise/lower the pc volume based on gps speed?

I also have GPSTools from the same guy who makes GPSGate. So I wrote a little program to display Speed, Heading, Distance, etc. I connect this to one port and iGuidance to another. I also occasionally run USA Photo Maps to see where I am on satellite photos of my route.

I try GPSgate but it doesn't resume working from hibernate all the time (about 50%). I have to either close and re-open the COM port in setting OR exit GPSgate and run again. Sometime Routis keep complainning NO GPS via virtual port (found out on a 2 hrs drive). D3 has no problem.
I have no problem running the Earthmate with Routis/D3from hibernate.

Couldn't figure out how to get Xport2 to work yet. I just forgot the connecting sequence to make Xport2 to work. I have to dig up the old thread regarding Xport.
