USB to Serial Bridge Drivers...

So I just bought a USB to serial adapter for my old DeLorme Earthmate thinking it'd be cool not to have to buy batteries for it anymore. Turns out it's actually more complicated than I could probably understand (as many of you probably already know). So I'm doing some searching and finding out I need to replicate the USB port as a COM port, then try things again. Unfortunately, the CD this generic cable came with is broke, and the seller doesn't seem too interested in sending me a new one. Any ideas where I can find these drivers, or am I better off getting a new GPS?

Thanks,

Matt
