i guess yeah you can if you had high enough quality components but considering the amount of signal is so so so weak that you receive, you'd need some pretty damn good cable and high quality solder to get it working as well as it can do - also from my gps (bu 303) the antenna is pretty much hard soldered to the pcb and is the largest thing in the shell, instead, make your mouse water proof and stick it outside

thats strange, i added a Link last time, where is it gone?

here its again:
http://www.car-pc.info/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=639

It's an german Car-PC Forum.

I don't know when, but within the next time I want to "rebuild" my antenna, because my GPS modul was much to big, so I had to remove the whole Radio and Cellular antenna - part. thats now in the car. I added an Wire at the Antenna contact, and tgough the cartop, to the external electronics (hope that works)

No problem, I tried babel fish but the translation didn't make much sense. Thanks in advance.

Ok, here's my try

the first thing you have to do is to get an Triplex antnna like one of these (each triplex is good enough it mustent be from VW or Audi or Bosch):
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...520181552&rd=1
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...520168447&rd=1

then open it and remove the original GPS reciever, I think you need to modify the bottom of the antenna (the metal) so that the GPS Module for the PC fits.
if the rubber needs to be removed, use silicon to seal the antenna (so that it is waterproof).

thats it.

If you also need to remove the Radio and Cellphone Modules of the antenna because the GPS module ist to big (like mine ) simple solder an wire to the contakt point at the antenna and lead the cable trough the antenna foot to the Radio and Cell-Phone modules inside your car.
All connections after the antenna foot all wires should be split by an plug contact, thats fitting trough the hole in the sheet metal of the roof.

thats it
I hope that was understandably.
like I said near future I want to modify my antenna, so i will make pics and show theme here to make it easier to show

greets
Dirk
