The GPS brand I bought is Deluo and it came bundled with the Routis software. It has pretty decent maps for Canada and US, all on one CD.

I've only tried destinator with ninja monkey's front end. I'm using it now. Canada map is from the second quarter of 2003. A little out of date. I'm trying to find newer ones, if they even exist.

screen resolution

You have a dogsled? Man, I have to snowshoe to the beer store, almost lost my touque, eh.

I'm running a modified PS-1 LCD (5 inch) at 640 x 480. MS streets & trips requires 800 x 600 min resolution, which is a bummer. Does copilot or destinator (or any GPS sw) run with 640 x 480 resolution? I've been thinking about an upgrade to an 8" Lilliput for my cross country trip to Winnipeg.

I've tried Mappoint (I think it has the same maps as Streets & Trips) and Routis/iGuidance. iGuidance has great navigation and has good maps for the city areas, but nothing for more rural areas and smaller cities. Mappoint has more map coverage but sucks for navigation/directions.

i'm using copilot live with canadian data and it's pretty good.. the road names are pretty accurate but I live in a subburb of ottawa that's listed incorrectly on copilot lol.

actually....one thing i found that had very bad directions with copilot was the bridge from detroit to windsor , the directions to get to it are really bad. the exit it made me take did not get me to the bridge. I guess it thought the bridge was at the ground level and I had to ignore the directions to it because it was guiding me on roads below the bridge and not at the same level.

No to hijack the thread, but where are you in Ottawa? I live in Nepean. I wonder if there are any others near us?

streets and trips doesn't require 800x600. I run mine just fine at 640x480

I don't know about using it on the 5" screen tho, no matter what you make your resolution you still only have 5 inches.

streets & trips

That's great if MS S&T will run at 640 x 480. Is that the 2005 or 2004 edition? I have a PS-1 LCD modded up for VGA input but haven't cut up my dash to install it yet. I thought I'd need an upgrade to Lilliput to run GPS software.

Anyone from the Hamilton area? Gotta love the Hammer, it stinks but it's cheap.
