anyone use win xp "accessibility" screen keyboard?

I was thinking this might be a good solution to using MS Streets with a touch screen.

Might make it more useful, but you still have problems with it. Namely -- in my case anyway -- the USB GPS receiver would not be detected automatically, and I have to go into the GPS options, configure the receiver, have the program scan for the ports and then select the port where my receiver is.

I don't know if the receiver would be auto-started after hybernation/standby or if you have to repeat the whole process...

And there's still the missing auto-recalculate option for when you go off track. At least they added that to Street Atlas 2k5 (from what their web page says), but with MS Streets you're left staring at your car going one way while the route is some other way... you have to manually tell it to recalculate from the current location.

I'm sure the OSK will make it easier to type addresses and what-not, if it's not in the way... with a 7" screen the keyboard takes up a good portion of the map area, so it might be in the way of the controls where you're supposed to type.

I think it will make it easier to use on a touchscreen, but it's still not as good as some of the TS-oriented solutions out there.

The "accessibility" keyboard darn good one when you can't find a real keyboard.
I use it for short type such as URL and so....

The best way to improve Streets and Trips is to replace it. Not car-friendly enough. Most seem to like iGuidance.

I use Street Atlas 2005 and the auto reroute option works pretty well but the tabs and controls are tiny and many don't like them. I can see their point but once it's set up, you can voice control the rest of it.
